The Holidays Are Here!

Can you believe that 2019 is about to be over and as it wraps up, so does the decade? But with 2019’s end coming up, so are the holidays. This is by far my favorite time of the year because with the holidays comes so much. From the cold weather, to the family gatherings, the gifting, and the laughing – it’s just a good time all in all.
Living in Florida, it is a little harder to feel like the holidays are approaching – especially this year. It has taken longer than usual for the temperature to start dropping and with no seasonal changes, it’s harder for us Floridians to really feel like the holidays are fast approaching and the year is ending.
But with that being said, we could not be any happier that the holidays are upon us! Thanksgiving is only 8 days away and we are truly looking forward to having all of our family and friends around our dinner table. There is so much to be thankful for and it all starts with family.
For a lot of people (the retail-oriented ones haha) Thanksgiving and Black Friday are a celebration all in one. Black Friday is the time to shop for those Holiday gifts that we did not get earlier in the year (or if we care to admit: we forgot to buy) and you know what? Many people take Black Friday as a retail holiday but I actually like the idea of spending a day being grateful for all of the blessings that we have and have had all year and the day following that, many of us take to the stores to buy meaningful things to those whom we are and have been grateful for.
Honestly, I’ve always felt like November is an amazing link to December and its’ holidays. We feel so grateful the entire month of November and we really do stop and consider all of the things and people we are grateful for; and that is then carried on through to the month of December while we prepare to celebrate Christmas or Hanukah or Kwanza or whatever holiday it is that you might be celebrating. Because in all of those moments we celebrate blessings, family and friends.
Take a minute today and think – what are you grateful for?
